Arecibo Observatory collapses

Today's click through is sad but interesting.

What is it? you ask.

Well, the Arecibo Observatory, located in Puerto Rico, has been functioning since the 1960s as a powerful telescope.

But, alas, just a few days ago it finally collapsed after the supporting cables broke.

If this place looks familiar to you, it should, if you are a James Bond Film fan because it was featured in the film "Goldeneye" as well as in several other movies.

Today's click through shows both drone and ground views during the collapse as well as some pre-collapse historical footage.
