Mind Meld to control another guy's finger

Now this is interesting.

As you know, much work is being done in the new field of H+ (Trans Humanism).

This is likely in that same category.

What is it? you ask.

Well, it seems that an experiment has been reported in which one person thinks and another person's finger does what the first guy thought.

And there's more.

As you might suspect, it is not just humans, but rats and monkeys are being controlled, too.

As you can imagine, this can open the door to many things.

The article also has a short video with more details.

Pink Katydids ????

While sitting here wondering what to post for the DIT, the email dinged.

So, checked the inbox.

And the most amazing email had been sent by a DIT reader who thought this might be a good topic.

WOW. Understatement of the year!

Have you ever seen a Pink katydid?

Or an orange one?

Or a yellow one?

Well, thanks to the alert DIT reader, now you can.

Who would have thought?

Airbus A380 Approach and Landing at San Francisco

A friend of DIT who is a pilot sends us interesting flying videos from time to time.

This time she found another one that is really interesting.

What is it?

Well, as explained in her email:

"This is pretty interesting to watch. The pilots sit away from everything, no yoke, etc. Captain pulls up a keyboard once in a while to enter info ... but the plane does most of the work.

The humongous A380 makes its first landing at San Francisco airport. It seems extensively automated. When the air traffic controller gives them heading, altitude, and speed, they dial it in. Looks like it (almost) lands itself, too. Pretty interesting." ...
You will notice that this is the German Airline, Lufthansa, and this was the maiden flight into San Francisco by the Big Airbus A380.
Why do we mention that?
Because, if you continue to watch after the landing you will hear the Music and see the Water welcome ceremony which is done for important flights such as this.
This is a rather longish video (14 minutes 25 seconds) -- but if you are a pilot, a wannabe pilot, or have wondered what goes on in the cockpit, then this video is for you.
You might even want to view this more than once.  We did.

How to park a car (or not)

This reportedly took place somewhere in Russia.

It is titled "Just a car parking"

though the parking might not have been intended

or then, again, maybe it was.

Anyway, this short short 10 second video is unusual to say the least.

You might have to watch it more than once to really see what happened.

An Amazing Sun Flare

It is titled looping rain

And when you see the images, you will likely agree.

Sun flares, as you know are common.

But sun flares with the appearance you will see in this 4 minutes 16 seconds video from NASA are not common.

This particular flare occurred on July 19, 2012 and is considered a medium sized flare.

Hmmmm. Wonder what a really big one looks like.

Anyway, you will be amazed at the most unusual appearance of this sun flare.

Complex cells could not evolve from bacteria

Hmmm.  This should give the evolutionists pause.

But, as usual, it doesn't.  They think they have a workaround, but they don't.

Wonder what this is all about?

Well, it seems that a study published in the journal, Nature, has "found that the total energy required to process eukaryotic DNA is far more than any bacterial system can produce." They therefore maintained that "mitochondria are prerequisite to [eukaryote] complexity."

But, rather than follow this to the logical conclusion that such a finding speaks against evolution, the scientists, have an 'idea' that they think might explain a way around the problem.

What is their 'idea' and does it really hold water?

Well, this brief article explains the possible 'work around' and why it really doesn't work.

A Baby Christopher update

A friend called the other day and amongst other things asked how 'Baby Christopher' is doing.

For those of you who are new to DIT, 'Baby Christopher' is no longer a Baby.

He is now about 3 ½ years old.

He is the little kiddo who had a Heart Transplant shortly after birth.

Then a couple of years later, he had to have a Renal transplant (his father was the Kidney donor).

He was seemingly doing well until this --

Just today, a post appeared on his Caring Bridge website which tells of a potential problem.

To read the note posted by his mother concerning the situation, HERE'S THE LINK

Expository Preaching

Expository Preaching

What is that? you ask.

Sadly, that is a question that all too many folks who attend Churches today would ask if you mentioned those words.

The dictionary definition of Expository is :
expository |ikˈspäziˌtôrē|
intended to explain or describe something ...

Thus, Expository Preaching is when the Preacher goes into great depth describing or explaining a passage of Scripture.

Why is this important?

Well, a recent post by Dr. Albert Mohler, President of Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. will explain

and also provides very important insights about Worship services in American Churches today.

This is a must read post.

Dogs who love water

Now this is a hoot.

Yes, we know there are some dogs that are water lovers.

Dogs such as Retrievers who get the ducks when the hunter shoots them.

Even poodles used to be retrievers long long ago.  That is why they had the funny grooming features.

For example, the tufts around the ankles and legs were to protect from cold icy water.

But, the dogs we will see today really love water just because it is water.

To see this funny 1 minute 51 second video (well actually it is less because there is a commercial at the end)

Sunday Hymn -- The Lord's Prayer

One of the readers of DIT told us that he recently found on the internet the Hymn, "The Lord's Prayer".

The friend said it was so well done and inspirational that he had played it for his SS class on an iPhone before beginning the class lesson and discussion.

With that said, neither the friend nor his SS Class (if they check this DIT site) will find this to be a 'new' DIT but we do thank him for finding it for the rest of us.

It is a 2 min 38 seconds video with Soloist Charlotte Church, chorus, and orchestra.

It sometimes is preceded by an advertisement, if so, just click it away.

And now, with that by way of introduction,

"Is your dog happy to see you? Look at its eyebrows."

If you can find his or her eyebrows, that is.

Some dogs are so shaggy that they are obscured.

But, assuming you can see the eyebrows --

A recent article and illustrating video says that you can actually tell if your dog is happy to see you by looking at its eyebrows.

Who would have thought.

Check this out and see what you think about this.

And the link today is going to up the ante even more.

Because you will see one of the most amazing catches ever in this
1 minute 8 second video.

The Trinity

Have you wondered and wondered -- sometimes till your head hurt -- about The Trinity.

The Trinity:  God the Father, Jesus the Son, and The Holy Spirit.

They are separate and yet equal.

How can this be?

You have probably heard several explanations.

The one to which we are linking today is very profound and thought provoking.

This 1 minute 49 second video has very interesting insights.

So, without further ado,

Shroud of Turin

You have likely heard about, or perhaps even seen, the Shroud of Turin.

It is a 14 foot linen cloth with the with the imprint of a man on it.

This individual has nail wounds at the wrist and bleeding sites on his brow consistent with marks from a crown of thorns.

Many folks believe that these findings are consistent with the Shroud being the burial cloth of Christ.

Others say 'no' because previous carbon dating has shown it to be from the Middle Ages.

But, guess what?

New carbon dating tests have been done and show the cloth to date between 300 BC and 400 AD.

This definitely would put it in the Time of Christ.

Frozen Light !!!

Yes. You read that correctly.

It seems that scientists have figured out how to Freeze Light !

I kid you not.

An article on the internet tells how "Scientists 'froze' light for an entire minute.

And this might explain a lot of things not only about light but about Creation, light years in space, and more.

But that is another article for another time perhaps.

Right now, you are surely wondering how and why and what was involved in this amazing event.
