Christian Yoga?

We are still early in the new year and that means that many folks are starting their diets, exercising at the health club, and otherwise keeping their New Year's Resolutions.

Among the 'exercises' that many people, even Christians, have taken up either as a New Year's Resolution or just because they want to is

             Yoga.

I have had discussions with several Christians about Yoga and they all try to say that it is 'just another form of exercise.'

But is it?

This article will help answer that question.

Spurgeon's Morning and Evening

As the New Year begins, many are contemplating New Year Resolutions --

One of those Resolutions likely includes something like "to Get closer to God and do daily meditations"

The click through today will help you do that.

What is it? you ask.

Well, there is a classic book of Daily Devotions / Meditations that will be of great assistance in your resolution.

It is titled "Morning and Evening"

and was written by Charles Haddon Spurgeon, pictured here.

He was a British Preacher who lived from 1834 to 1892.

But back to the thought of Daily Devotions and New Year's Resolutions --

As we mentioned --One of his most helpful books was a book of devotions titled Morning and Evening.

You can put it on your smart phone or tablet

Or you can buy it in book form

Or you can go to a free website that provides the daily devotions. That is today's click through.

Either way, this is a wonderful way to add to your daily devotional time.

So with that said,

Wow ! It's 2020 !!!

Well, it is that time of the year again --The time when the old year ends and a new year begins.

And, as this is being uploaded to the web, the famous Times Square New Year’s Eve ball has just dropped. And 2020 has begun !

Some people ignore the event and just sleep through it.

          BUT

Many folks saw the new year “in” while in prayer.

Others celebrate the coming of the new year in crazed and drunken parties.

Still others will be at home alone or with family or friends or at calmer parties but stop to watch via TV the Ball Drop in Times Square.

And, each year that ball gets larger, more ornate, more impressive, and more expensive.

As you probably know, the Ball is now made of (gasp) Waterford Crystal !

And speaking of the The Ball drop in New York City.

Everyone loves it.

But how did this tradition get started?

To find out HERE'S THE LINK TO the History of the Times Square Ball
