The Exodus Explored - Chariots and Coral in the Red Sea

In The Bible we read about the Exodus of the Jewish Nation from Egypt at the time of Passover about 3,500 years ago.

And often at Passover time the Movie depicting that event is re-aired.  Perhaps you saw it recently.

But, many folks think that event and especially the crossing of the Red Sea never happened -- indeed they think it couldn't happen.

But guess what --

Recent discoveries attest to the fact that it DID happen.

Today's click through explains.

O How He (Jesus) Loves you and me

Our brief devotional thought for today explains these versed and How Jesus really loves us.

“That ye . . . may be able to comprehend with all saints

what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ,

which passeth knowledge,

that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”

However, there is one last remaining active Morse Code Station in America.  It was built in 1930 and is located at 17400 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Inverness, California.

Only Christ was sinless

Christ died on the Cross to pay the death penalty for all the sins of all humans.

Some say that Christ was sinner, just like us.

But if that is true, then His substitute death on the cross could not pay the death penalty for us

because

only a sinless One could pay the substitute death penalty for all the sins of all mankind.

Today's click through is to a brief devotional that explains why all of this is important --

not only for the 'lost' (those who have not repented from their sins and have not accepted Christ as Lord and Savior)

but also for Christians (those who have repented and have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior but still still sin from time to time).

Today is Resurrection Sunday (Easter)

Almost 2000 years ago, The Lord God Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the required death penalty for my (and everyone’s) sins.

Three days and nights passed while he was in the grave.

But then, HE  AROSE  from the dead !!!

He was Resurrected to new life!!!

And because He arose, we, too, can live with Him forever
        IF
we confess and turn from our sins
        and
accept the free gift of His substitute death as payment for our sins.

Jesus explained this amazing transaction to Nicodemus in these words:

                   John 3:14-18...  kjv
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ...

What should be our response to this?

Well, Robert Shaw, the Chamber Singers, and the Atlanta Symphony orchestra express my response in this video.

Today is Good Friday

Today the world historically considers this to be the day that Christ died.

Some argue that Friday was not the day -- rather that He died on a Wednesday.

This is a debate that has gone on for centuries and continues to this day.

We mention it now just so you will know that the concept is "out there".

But whether Christ died on a Wednesday, or a Thursday, or a Friday is not the main point.

The main thing is that Christ Died and the reason for His death was to provide us a way of salvation and escape from eternity in Hell which would be the price we will have to pay for our sins if they remain unforgiven and not paid for.

But Christ's sinless life and blood sacrifice by his death on the cross provides the substitutionary atonement (payment) for individuals from their sins (if they accept this gift of Christ's death for theirs).

The night of the Passover Exodus in which the Jews put the blood of a lamb on the doorposts of their houses -- and thus avoided the death of the firstborn -- was a picture of the future death / blood sacrifice of The Lord God Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind.

Anyone who believes in and accepts Jesus' gift of His life for theirs (yours, mine) will live eternally with Him in heaven and will escape the penalty of eternal punishment for their sins in hell.

That is what Good Friday (or Wednesday or Thursday) really means.

The question for you then is:

Have you accepted Jesus' gift of His life/death to pay your sin penalty?

For God so loved the world
That He gave His only beloved son (Jesus, the Lamb of God)
That whosoever believes in Him
Shall not perish
but have everlasting life.

              John 3:16 KJV

Passsover (Pesach) begins

Passover this year is from Sundown on April 8 and ends at sundown Thursday April 16.

It begins with the Seder Supper.

So What exactly is Passover?

Well, Passover celebrates the departure (exodus) of the Jewish Nation from Egypt after about 400 years of living in Egypt, most of that time in slavery.  You probably remember the event if you saw the movie 10 Commandments.

If you are rusty on those events, check out the Biblical account in Exodus 12. HERE'S THE LINK

The Passover Super observed at the time of the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt is now observed annually as a memorial of that miraculous Exodus.

It reveals not only reminders of that past event --

but it also reveals significant types / prophetic pictures pointing to future events.

There are many things eaten and done during the Seder Supper, each with significant symbolism.

Today we are linking to a very interesting and informative video by David Brickner, the Director for the Jews for Jesus Ministry. It was presented at a Church worship service and explains what the various elements of the Seder supper commemorate --

but more importantly -- it explains what the various elements and activities reveal as prophetic pictures.

Whether you are a Christian or a Jew or a Gentile or an Atheist or an Agnostic--this is definitely a must watch video.  So carve out some time (about 26 minutes) and prepare to learn a lot.

Is Genesis History

Being shut in for all these past days and with no 'get out' card yet in view

today's Click through is an answer for "what to do?"

The link today is to clips from the full length movie that was in theaters 2 or 3 years ago --

I went to a theatre and paid to see it -- and even bought the video because it was so good.

What is it? you ask.  Well --

"This film is the first step on a journey toward understanding the history of the Earth according to Genesis. Follow Del Tackett as he travels across the continent with over a dozen scientists and scholars to see fascinating new evidence for creation and a global flood."
Actually it is in clips instead of just running on and on for its 1 hr 44 minute total length.

The clips are small but complete segments from the film so you can watch a clip and discuss it with your family, kids, friends, whatever -- and then go on to another clip.

And after you have seen the zillion clips -- there are even more videos of varying length available as you scroll down the page.

So since you are 'locked in' and need something to 'do', take this time to find out about such things as

What is the History revealed in Genesis,  Was there a earthwide flood, and much much more.

Four Cosmologies

What is Cosmology? you ask.

Well, according to Dictionary.com ---
 Cosmology is
"1. the branch of philosophy dealing with the origin and general structure of the universe, with its parts, elements, and laws, and especially with such of its characteristics as space, time, causality, and freedom.
 2. the branch of astronomy that deals with the general structure and evolution of the universe."
