Today is Sukkot - The Jewish Feast of Tabernacles

There is a series of Jewish Holidays that are observed annually.

Several are in the Spring, a few in the summer, and the rest in the Fall.

Today a very important Fall Feast / Holiday begins at Sundown.

Interestingly and significantly, though all the Major Jewish Holidays are important to the Jews they are also important to Christians.

Why?

Because the Jewish Holidays / Feasts have prophetic meanings and are Types / Pictures of important events in History.

The Feast / Holiday beginning today at sundown is Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.

This Feast actually spans a week.

So what happens?  And why does it take a week?

Well, one of the things that happens is that the Jews build booths / tabernacles and live in them during the week.

The picture today showing some of these booths is from Wikipedia and was taken by Yoninah.

The article to which we are linking will give more details about the booths and will answer questions about what happens and why.
