Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Yesterday was Memorial Day -- a time when the graves of the Military are remembered by the placing of flags and decorations.

But days pass and soon the flags are removed until next year

and the flowers wilt

and life goes on by those who observed Memorial Day.

But not everyone forgets the fallen who gave their lives so that we might be free and able to continue living our lives.

As you know, in Washington DC, there is a very famous tomb.

It is the Tomb of the Unknown soldier and it is guarded 24 / 7 rain or shine, good weather or severe.

Who is the Unknown Soldier in that tomb?

Well, actually, there are more than one.

The first was an unknown Soldier from the First World War.

But others have been placed there from other wars since that time.
