Which came first? The Chicken or the Egg?

You have heard this asked repeatedly since you were ‘knee high to a grasshopper".

And usually the questioner smugly implies that it was the egg that came first and therefore the Bible is wrong or to be ignored when it teaches that the chicken came first.

Where does the Bible teach that? you ask.

Genesis 1:20-23 states:
20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

So, the Bible clearly states that birds (fowls) were created on day 5 of Creation week. And the chicken is a bird (fowl).

Therefore the Chicken came first.

Well, joy and happiness, ‘science’ has finally come to the (correct) conclusion that the Chicken came first.

But, the reports of this conclusion are still being written wearing ‘old earth’ glasses as they give the ‘glory’ to ‘nature’, not God.  Sigh.
