Riding to the top of the Gateway Arch in the Tram Car

It's Saturday and since most of us are still locked down because of the virus and can't go anywhere

let's take a vicarious vacation to St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Inside the other Channel Tunnel you don't normally see

Well, it is time for another vicarious trip.

And actually, this is a trip you probably would not be able to do even if you were able to travel.

What is it? you ask.

Well, as you know, there is an underwater tunnel that goes from England (Britain) to France.

You can ride in it using the high speed Train.

Actually there are 3 tunnels, 

two which you might ride in using the train

but the third one is the one we will visit today.

It is the tunnel you don't normally see but it is absolutely essential.

It's purpose is to provide access to the two train tunnels for maintenance, evacuations, and more.

Fascinating.

About a week ago (Monday Night/Tuesday Morning Jan 25-26/2021)

a big big big tornado went through Fultondale Alabama.

It caused a LOT of destruction.

Today is Groundhog day

Yes, today is the day -- when we find out if winter continues or Spring comes soon.

According to Wikipedia: "Groundhog Day is a popular tradition celebrated in Canada and the United States on 2 February.

Today's click through is really unusual.

Picture yourself looking out a window of the International Space station -- which is what you are doing.

You are enjoying and fascinated by the view of earth and the atmosphere around it

and then you see a fast moving small dot that goes up and up and up and then gets brighter as a booster rocket fires.

This is really interesting and amazing.

MAF Twin Otter Landing Maramuni, Papua New Guinea

MAF is Missionary Aviation Fellowship.

A Twin Otter is a type of airplane.

Papua New Guinea, as you will see in today's click through, is a rough and rugged area which is not a place in which you would want to casually fly an airplane.

The location of the landing we will see today is Maramuni in Papua New Guinea.

The length of the landing strip is 450 meters by 15 meters.

The altitude is 4800 feet.

As you can see -- if you can't use an airplane, getting in and out of this area for emergencies, sickness, supplies, etc. is almost impossible.

That is why MAF provides such an awesome service to remote areas such as this and to remote areas elsewhere in the world.  WOW.  This is not for the faint of heart.
