Penny Postcards

Some readers of DIT are old enough (cough cough) to remember penny postcards.

For the rest of you, yes they realllllly did exist, with the penny postcard rate lasting through 1951.

What did you 'get' for a penny postcard?

But most of them had pictures of towns and places just like the big expensive postcards in souvenir shops today.

What did your town or city or hamlet or whatever look like years ago when penny postcards existed?
