The B-29 Airplane

This is the only flying B-29 -- yes, it is the last of its kind that is still flying

What is the B-29 and why is it important

Recently a friend of DIT found this link --

iI  begins by briefly detailing the historical information about this important airplane

And then, at the end of the article, is a link to a short video of Fifi, the B-29 actually flying.  You will love this.

Why should we think living things were created by God

Today's DIT link answers an atheists insistence that design is an illusion --

A mother has written to Creation Magazine with a question --

it seems that her son, who is an atheist, is questioning the theory of origins as proposed by Creationists.

He says, from his atheistic perspective, which he has apparently been taught in school,

that "it doesn't matter whether something survives or not.  There is just the appearance of meaningful survival and progression because of the way it works out…"

The mother wants to know how to respond.

Perhaps you have had similar thoughts or discussions.

This article has some very helpful information.

Can Creationists be Scientists?

Last week we discovered that the inventor of the medical MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Machine was a creationist.

But, the 'view' of the world today is that Creationists can not be 'real' scientists.

Instead, they say, only evolutionists have the insights needed to be scientists.

This is unusual because when one looks back through history, almost all of the scientists believed in God and that God created everything.

And, even today, many many scientists believe in God and His creative works.

Dr. Damadian is one.

And there are many others.

The article to which we are linking today lists even more (though there are many more than those who are in the article).

So with that by way of introduction

HERE'S THE LINK to can Creationists be scientists

Hymn: Lead me to Calvary

Today's Hymn speaks of Calvary

Calvary was the place where The Lord God Jesus Christ was Crucified and died.

To pay the death penalty for our sins.

Jesus never sinned.  Therefore He was able to be  the perfect unblemished substitutionary sacrifice to atone/pay for the sins of sinners.

Anyone who accepts that free gift of His death in payment for your, my, anyone's sins will be forgiven of their sins because Christ's death served as the substitute payment.

The inventor of the MRI was a Creationist

While we are on the subject of Medical Innovations (see yesterday's DIT) --

this is a good time to mention a really big time very helpful invention, the MRI.

This well known medical device, the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), was invented by Dr Raymond Damadian.

The book, pictured here, tells about this and about the life of Dr. Damadian PhD.

Though he did not receive the Nobel prize for this invention (although his co-workers did), he was the 'brains' behind the invention and President of MRI manufacturing.

CLICK THIS LINK for important information and the timeline of the development of the MRI -- which confirms that Dr. Damadian was the inventor.

So, Why did he not receive the Nobel Prize along with his co-workers? you ask

Well, perhaps it is because he is a (gasp) Creationist --

and today only Evolutionary Scientists are considered to be 'real' scientists.

For more information about Dr. Damadian's invention and the book. HERE'S THE LINK

And HERE'S A LINK that mentions a few of the many Creationists who are 'real' scientists today.

Medical Innovations

This famous classic picture of 'The Doctor' by Sir Luke Fildes was painted in 1891.

Much has changed in the field of Medicine since that time though the thought processes of diagnosing and treating the patient remains the main thing.

But to assist in the thought processes and treatments -- innumerable innovations have been developed including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, multiple medicines, vaccines,   surgical procedures, and etc. etc. etc.

The 5 minute video to which we are linking today depicts several of the most recent  interesting and innovative inventions.

How the United States got to Mars

As you know there is much talk about people going to Mars to live and work.

No kidding.

They are taking applications and making plans.

But, in the meantime, let's take a vicarious trip to Mars (without the danger).

Our click through today tells how the United States sent an exploratory vessel ---- named Spirit to Mars.

You might have seen this live a few years ago but if not --

a video that recounts this event is 'out there' on the internet.

A friend of DIT found this very interesting 6 minute 30 second video.

Hymn: Lord I'm coming Home

Today's Hymn is often sung (or used to be) at the conclusion of the sermon and worship service.

It is a call for sinners to repent from their sins and turn to God for forgiveness and salvation.

The pictures shown as this video plays are of the Biblical account of the Prodigal son returning to his father.

In the same way, today, people need to repent of their sins and come to God the Father.

I've wandered far away from God,
Now I'm coming home;
The paths of sin too long I've trod,
Lord, Im coming home.

Coming home, coming home,
Nevermore to roam,
Open wide Thine arms of love,
Lord, Im coming home.

I've wasted many precious years,
Now Im coming home;
I now repent with bitter tears,
Lord, Im coming home.

I'm tired of sin and straying, Lord,
Now Im coming home;
Ill trust Thy love, believe Thy Word,
Lord, Im coming home.

I need His cleansing blood, I know,
Now Im coming home;
O wash me whiter than the snow,
Lord, Im coming home.

More About Air Force One

Yesterday's DIT about Air Force One was short and interesting.

But did you want to know more?

Have you been curious about what the interior looks like --

and what happens in that flying office?

Well, today's DIT will go into great detail.

The video to which we are linking today is an in depth 45 minute documentary produced by National Geographic and posted on youtube.

You may think this sounds like a long time (which is why we are posting this on a Saturday when you might have more time than usual).

But, time will fly (pun intended) when you start watching.  It is really interesting.

Be sure to go 'full screen' for the best effect.

And now, get in a comfortable chair, get some popcorn or other snacks, and enjoy.

5 Things you didn't know about Air Force One

Air Force One, as you know, is the Plane that flies the President of the USA.

It is quite an amazing airplane.

You might have seen it sometime -- as it flew in to your city or whatever.

And even though you probably know about Air Force One

the short 6 minute video to which we are linking today is titled "5 things you didn't know about Air Force One"

Incest in Noah's family?

This is a question that many folks have considered --

because Incest today is a definite 'no no'.

So, why, you might wonder -- was it not 'wrong' in Noah's Family ?

After the flood, there were only 8 People who survived.  So, it is obvious that there had to be intermarriage among those 8.

But, isn't that incest?

And wouldn't that be wrong?

And what about the children of Adam and Eve.  Who would they marry if not brothers and sisters?

Wouldn't that be wrong?

The verrrrrry short article to which we are linking today will explain.

However, as before, when linking to this site -- it often begins with a short video introduction to the purpose of the website.  After that is over, the article should appear.  If it doesn't, click on the link again and it should work.

Model Airplanes

Usually when one thinks of Model Airplanes, you immediately think of little planes that you assemble, paint, and put on a shelf -- such as the one pictured here for sale at Amazon.

But, there are much much bigger versions of Model Airplanes --

they are almost big enough to hold a person -- but not quite.

They are flown by remote control.

People in clubs and organizations fly them as a hobby and in air shows.

One such show was the IMAA Air Show in 2011.

That is the link for today.

You are going to love this -- and as one person said --

"Flying them is one thing, landing is something else!! "

When you view this video, I think you will agree.

Tiny house from a Grain Silo

Tiny Houses are 'big' these days.

By 'big' we don't mean in size but in popularity.

There are many TV shows that feature Tiny Houses --

such as the house in Portland Oregon in the picture here -- which was taken by Tammy and posted on Wikipedia.

DIT knows one couple that records many shows about tiny houses and watches them all.

Each time they marvel at why people would want to do this and wonder "where do they keep all their stuff (books, etc)."

I guess people in tiny houses are the true 'minimalists'

Anyway, these structures are cute -- as is the one you will see today which was made from a Grain Silo.

It"s not just Black and White

Today's link explains a lot.

How is that? you ask

Well, as you are well aware, there is a lot of discussion and arguments today about races, skin color, and more.

The Bible gives the answer when it discusses Babel because

Babel explains why there are Different People groups.

But many folks refuse to consider the Biblical explanation.

In fact, one objector, posited a complaint which is answered in Today's link.

Check it out.  I think you will find it fascinating.

Today's DIT is a Heads up for parents, grandparents, educators, Church leaders, and essentially everyone.

What is it?

Well, Opal Singleton (the president and CEO of has written a book titled Seduced.

In it she "explains how technology like smart phones and tablets allow people into the bedrooms of our children that we would never let pass though the front doors of our homes."
She was also interviewed on SkywatchTV.

Since the TV program is free on YouTube, we thought you would want to watch it -- and then perhaps later buy the book.

But, watching will be enough to get your hair standing on end !!!

A friend of DIT found this link and emailed it to us.

This is what the friend said in the email:  "Moms, Dads, Grandparents!! -- I watched this and just started praying for our families today!  Our children are in danger everytime they pick up their cell phones, etc, to preditors!!  Please, please, please take time to watch this!"

The program to which we are linking is about 20 minutes in length but will be well worth your time.

So Please watch.  This is scary and life changing information.

A very unusual ocean appearance

Seems that a group of people on a boat noticed that the water ahead of them looked very different, odd, and strange.

So they sailed closer to inspect --

and then sailed into the odd area --

when suddenly they figured out what the situation was

well, read the article and look at the pictures.

Only the Bible explains the diversity of life

There is a debate about the diversity of life forms.

Evolutionists say one thing and Creationists have another view.

And round and round they go.

The article to which we are linking today will help sort this out.

Sometimes when you click on the link to the website with the article, it opens with a short (about 1 min 29 seconds) introduction to the website.  This is mainly for first time visitors (isn't it amazing how computers know these things).

Anyway, if that should happen, listen to the introduction - it is very good.

Or you can click it off.

Also, Sometimes when you listen to the introduction or even if you click off, it takes you to a list of other articles.  If that should happen, either read some of the articles OR click again on the link with which you started and you should go to the article to which we are linking today. (The computer apparently knows you have been there before. Hmmm)

Sound confusing?  Yes. I agree.  But it is worth the effort to get to the article.

So, with that by way of introduction

Hymn: Cast thy burden upon the Lord

Today's Hymn was composed by Felix Mendelssohn of Hamburg, Germany.

It was written in the 1800s but is still relevant today, though not often heard --anymore.

Which is sad -- because the message is much needed today.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
And He shall sustain thee.
He never will suffer the righteous to fall;
He is at thy right hand.
Thy mercy, Lord, is great
and far above the heav'ns;
Let none be made ashamed
that wait upon Thee.

One Billion at risk of hearing loss from loud music

The picture shown here is the International Symbol of deafness and hearing loss.

And speaking of hearing loss

Yesterday we saw a video of a Stealth Jet -- which, if we had been there in person would have been a realllly loud experience.

And you noticed that those near the noise were wearing ear protection things.

But, alas and alack, many people, especially the young folks attending concerts or listening to loud music are at risk of hearing loss.

That is what the WHO (World Heath Organization) is reporting.

This airplane is actually a Navy Drone and is completely unmanned.

And just between you, me, and the gatepost, in some views, it looks kinda like a flying saucer.  Hmmmm.

This is amazing.

Receiving Divine Peace

The brief article to which we are linking today was sent to us by a friend of DIT.

It is actually a short devotional written by Michael Youssef, PhD.

and It explains how to Receive Divine Peace.

But even more than that -- it explains the concept of "Lordship", even though that term is not used in the article.

You may be a Christian / Believer in the Lord God Jesus Christ -- but are noticing that you still do not have peace and your lifestyle is not 'godly'.

This article will explain why that is and how you can correct it.

Ocean underneath Earth's crust

Scientists have recently discovered that there is an Ocean underneath the crust of the Earth-- of course the Scientists are reporting this with the evolutionary old earth perspective --

To which I sarcastically respond: Wow, imagine that!

So, why the sarcasm, you ask.

Well, this is just what the Bible has implied and predicted.

How is that? you say.

Well, 'large quantities of water deep in the earth'  is described in the Bible.

Specifically, Genesis 7:11 says that "the fountains of the great deep were broken open" to provide most of the water for the Genesis Flood.

So where would all that water come from?  From an ocean under the earth's crust! And apparntly there is still a lot of water under the earth's crust.  It was not all evacuated during the flood.

In addition Psalm 136:5-9 describes how God "stretched out the earth above the waters".

As a friend of DIT has so correctly stated:  "It is wise to see what the Bible says when topics like this are reported."

So with that by way of introduction,

HERE'S THE LINK to Ocean underneath earth's crust

How to clean with Alka-Seltzer

There are many interesting and sometimes very unusual cleaning products "out there"

Today's DIT links to one.

As noted in the title, Alka-Selzer seems to be able to do more than help you when you have an upset stomach.

Yes, we are talking about the "plop plop fiz fiz"  over the counter medicine tablet.

The one pictured here is an Alka-Selzer Plus tablet.

Anyway, good old plop plop fiz fiz seems to also be able to clean things.

Hmmmm -- so what does it do to the stomach.

Hymn: And Can it be that I should gain

Today's Hymn was written by Charles Wesley.

As is so true with most hymns, there is often a strong and powerful gospel message.

This hymn is no exception.

In this Hymn, the sacrificial substitute death of The Lord God Jesus Christ is explained:

He died that you and I and anyone who accepts His gift of His death as a substitute -- in place of our death -- so that we could be forgiven of our sins.

The lyrics are provided.

Gigapixels of the Andromeda Galaxy

A friend of DIT found this awesome link and sent it to us.

What is it?

Well, it is a most astounding image /video that NASA has taken and released to the Public.

If you were going to save it to your computer it would take 4.3 GB of disc space (but we don't suggest you save it because you can just look at it online via today's link.)

So what is it exactly?

Well, it seems that the Hubble Telescope has provided an image that "takes you through 100 million stars and travels over 40,000 light years"

And even though you will be astounded at what you see,

remember, this is only a part of  the Andromeda Galaxy --

and also remember that there are zillions and zillions of Galaxies.

This is only one galaxy, the Andromeda.

It is not our galaxy but one 'nearby'.

WOW. WOW. WOW.  This is truly astounding.

And be sure to watch all the way to the end for the final scene really puts things in perspective.

So with that by way of introduction,

If you have not yet visited it - or even if you have --

It seems that some people have questioned its size and location.

"The Station" by Robert J. Hastings

Recently while visiting in a Doctor's Office, we saw a very interesting plaque on the wall.

What was it?

Well, it is not a picture but rather a very short and insightful  article written by Robert J. Hastings, titled "The Station".

Who was he?  And why did we pay attention to the plaque.

Well, Robert Hastings was a good friend of the father of several DIT'ers.

Mr Hastings also has a radio program titled "Tiny Town Tales" on BBN (Bible Broadcasting Network).  If you ever have a chance to hear it, be sure to listen.

It is a short short program in which he tells stories about a tiny town somewhere in the USA.  If you have ever lived in a tiny town, you will surely relate and enjoy.

But I digress --

Both the father and Mr. Hastings are now in heaven (though the "Tiny Town Tales" program lives on since it was recorded.)

And the words he wrote on the plaque also live on.

Since the words on the picture of the plaque shown here are likely too small for you to read, we found a website that has posted the words.

I think you will find this most encouraging and self-explanatory

HERE'S THE LINK to The Station by Robert J. Hastings

And if you would like to print it out, this link is very good.

Divine Providence Training Center

We have mentioned this Organization before.

Several friends of DIT are active in it.

What is it? you ask

It is an outreach of "Care To Learn International" and is doing an outstanding job of educating Pastors and Church Leaders in Kenya, Africa.

Gifts are usually given to the Graduates at the completion of their extensive course work.

In the past, those gifts included Bibles, various Commentaries, and other books to assist them in their Church planting and growth activities.

But due to rapidly changing technology, these graduates were given iPads!

Wow.  Bibles, Books, Commentaries, and much much more are now available to them on an iPad.

The link today will explain.

After viewing it, you may want to pray for and perhaps give to this very responsible Training Center.

many of you probably remember going to school with blackboards.

And those of you who didn't will also find this interesting.

Why? Because, these pictures will truly amaze -- not only in that they have been found --

but you will also notice that the pictures and topics are very different from today.

Notice the topics (history, cursive writing, etc) that were covered 100 years ago compared with what is not covered today. Hmmmm.  Interesting.

Hymn: When I survey the wondrous cross

Today's well known Hymn is by Isaac Watts. The words are posted below.

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did eer such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads oer His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;

Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Why Planes can fly through Hurricanes

We are still in Hurricane Season -- though fortunately so far it has been a a quiet season.

But, you have doubtless noted that when a Hurricane develops, special planes are sent out to evaluate them.

And, if you are like most folks you wonder --

Why do people deliberately fly into a hurricane?

Isn't that really dangerous?

And why / how do they survive?

Post Modern Art at Ohio State

A friend of DIT found this very short but very interesting comment on a blog.

It is from an address by Ravi Zacharias and speaks volumes.

As you read it you will surely discern its profound ramifications as it clarifies and explains much about today's events and situations.

Fantastic Colors in nature

This is another email we received from a friend of DIT.

What is it?

Well, as suggested in the title -- Creations in nature are not 'blah'.  There are many vibrant and beautiful colors.

And they certainly were not made using Crayons or colored pencils.

As always, this makes a person wonder how all this could have happened by chance.

Think about that as you view these amazing pictures:

Do they want to quit?

Well, this picture and post, both of which were on Facebook, speak volumes.

Do we have enough evidence to trust the Bible?

This is another of those questions that we frequently hear debated and bandied about.

People repeatedly insinuate that the Bible can not be trusted.

Many have done research to find if there is enough evidence.

The article to which we are linking today was written by a Lawyer.

So he should certainly recognize evidence when he sees it.

Check out today's link to see what this lawyer decided.
