God's Hidden Symbol

We have been thinking about Christ's Death, Burial, and Resurrection recently

and also about how Jesus was and is prefigured in the Seder Supper and events relating to the Exodus of the Jewish nation from Egypt during the Passover event.

As you well know, Jesus, as the Lamb of God, died on the cross to provide salvation for those who accept His gift of substitutionary atonement.

But did you know that Jesus is not only pictured in the Passover Exodus and the Seder supper (among other things), something really significant about Him and His death is also pictured in our bodies!

Yes.  No Kidding.

How to get to Heaven

Over the past few days we have been recounting the events of the Lord God Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

We discovered that He died as the substitutionary sacrifice to pay the death penalty which is required for sin.

Since everyone has sinned -- everyone must pay his or her own death penalty (of eternity in Hell)

UNLESS

they confess their sins and ask God for forgiveness.

If they do that --

Then Christ's substitute death is offered to that person as a gift !!

If that person accepts the gift of Christ's death instead of his own and accepts Jesus as his Lord and God

then that person is immediately forgiven (is 'saved' from death / eternity in Hell)  and becomes a Child of God -- (They will be 'born again' and will able to say "I'm a Believer")

and they will spend eternity with Him in heaven.

How, exactly does a person do this? you ask.

Today is Resurrection Day - He is Alive !!!

Yes -- Jesus died on the Cross 2000+ years ago --

why?

because He was the substitute sinless sacrifice to pay the atoning penalty for the sins of mankind --

BUT after 3 days and nights he arose from the dead and was and still is ALIVE.

and over the next 40 days he was seen by many (more than 500)  before ascending into Heaven.

Here is how Mark reported the event for us:

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.

And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

                                          Mark 16: 1- 20   KJV

Why Did Jesus have to die?

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

                                       John 3:14 -18   kjv

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
