Did the Climate Change after Noah's Flood

If you listen to the secular media, you are constantly told that there were many ice ages in the millions and millions of years that earth supposedly existed.

But is this correct?

Were there many ice ages?

And is the earth millions and millions or billions of years old?

Or is the earth young and was there only 1 ice age?

And if so, how did an ice age develop after Noah's Flood?

Today's DIT will explain.

Surtsey Iceland and a very young island

You have heard repeatedly that it takes millions of years to form an island

or to carve a canyon such as the Grand Canyon.

But is this true?

Does it really take that long?

Well, actually no.

You already have seen the massive changes in topography produced in 1980 during the eruption of Mount St. Helens -- this was an example of how rapidly canyons, such as the Grand Canyon, can be formed.

Today's link will dispel the myth that it takes millions of years to form an island.

Really?

Yes,
HERE'S THE LINK to Surtsey still surprises

A 10 Pound Note is British Currency.

In the video to which we are linking today, a man discovers one partly wedged under the wheel of a car.

so he cleverly devises a way to 'get it'.

I won't say more because the ending is too good to give away

Many folks today say that Genesis 1-11 as recorded in the Bible is not real history but is just a derivation of ancient myths from other cultures.

Honeybees

Bees are amazing.

They look like a simple little flying critter

And surely their brain must be small

But, wow, the things they accomplish are remarkable.

To think they evolved by chance, as evolutionists propose, is beyond belief.

How to get to Heaven and the Heavenly City

Yesterday's DIT was a sermon about Heaven and the Heavenly City.

Also yesterday a well known and famous overnight radio program interviewed a Physician who had written a book about NDEs.

NDEs?  What are they? you ask.

Well NDEs are "Near Death Experiences" in which folks have died (according to physical symptoms during operations, car accidents, etc) but subsequently returned to life.

Many times these people afterwards relate an experience they had while 'dead'.

The radio program to which we mentioned detailed many such NDEs but interestingly no one mentioned in his book reported a death experience in hell -- only wonderful Heaven experiences were related.

These experiences were then analyzed by the host and the person / author  -- and  affirmed  (or so they said) that EVERYONE goes to haven at death and there is NO judgment.

Also, they said, persons of all beliefs and faiths were in heaven.

They also touched briefly on reincarnation and other esoteric topics.

And there was more -- sigh -- but

Hmmmm.

These thoughts of universal salvation with no judgement or punishment plus the possibility of  reincarnation and etc. ALL definitely contradicts the Bible.

So -- What does the Bible say about WHO can go to heaven and HOW?

It says a lot -- but here are a few passages that you should ponder:

Who can be saved / admitted into heaven?
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father (ie. can enter heaven), but by me (Jesus)."
John 14:6

And How is this possible?   Jesus Himself explained:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) should not perish, but have everlasting life. (In Heaven)
John:3:16

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;  …
Hebrews 9: 28

And also -- Re Reincarnation -- it does NOT happen!  Why?  Because
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

What is the City in Heaven like?

Last week, instead of music, we viewed a sermon by Dr. Lee.

This week, let's view another sermon.

This one is shorter (about 39 minutes) and is on a topic about which everyone wants to know more.

The topic is The Heavenly City.

It describes it in great detail.

You will definitely want to go there when you die.

This sermon by Dr. David Jeremiah will describe the City

and tell you who can and not go there

and what to do to be able to have your special place in the Heavenly City.

Goat Canyon Trestle

A friend of DIT found today's interesting link.

Seems there is a really old all wood trestle/bridge that is no longer functioning but for years it was a viable railroad trestle.

It is 'out west' in the USA and the article to which we are linking today tells about it but doesn't tell you how to get to it.

But not to worry about the location because

the region is so hot and dry and 'out in nowhere' that you probably don't want to walk to it anyway.

Instead, take a vicarious hike to this amazing structure.

6,000 years or 10,000 years or billions of years -- does it matter

Today's culture has 2 main views.

One view is that the earth and universe is billions of years old --

The other view is that the earth is young -- in the thousands of years instead of millions or billions.

Even among those who believe in the young earth -- there are some that debate between 6,000 vs. 10,000 years.

So what is the real story?

And why is it important?

Today is the 4th of July

What does this mean?

Recently I saw a college student being asked about this topic on a TV program.

His hesitant answer was "1984?"

Houston we have a problem.

To help alleviate the fact that apparently History is no longer being taught --

R.G. Lee Payday Someday

It is Sunday and usually on Sunday we worship with a Hymn

but today instead of a Hymn let's listen to a sermon.

A Sermon? Why?

Well, recently several of us were visiting in a Sunday School Class and the teacher mentioned that he and his wife had been married 50 years ago by Pastor R. G. Lee.

Now that name might be familiar to some of you.

For those for whom it doesn't ring a bell, well

R G Lee was pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tn. USA for many many years.

One of his sermons was so famous that he preached it over 1200 times at various pulpits around the world.

The sermon is based on 1 Kings 21 and reveals the sins committed by Ahab and Jezebel -- and God's judgment on all sin.

The message in this sermon makes it clear that all sin has consequences.

Dr. Lee died in 1978 but that sermon lives on and is available on YouTube.

This is such an important sermon and a true classic that we are linking to it today.

So pull up a chair and if you can cast it to your smart TV all the better--

And now with that said

ARRL Field Day

Hams  (Amateur Radio operators) all across America and around the world are 'on the air' today (Saturday)  and tomorrow (Sunday).

Why?  Well, because

As described on the American Amateur Radio Relay League Website:

"Field Day is ham radio's open house.

"Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation.

"It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.

"Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio."

If you are a Ham, are interested in becoming a ham, or are just curious, find a site and visit.

Many sites will have a GOTA (Get on the Air) station which means that if you are not a licensed ham you will still be able to talk on the radio and make contacts.

It is a fun fun fun time.

You will be amazed.

For more information about "what is field day" HERE'S A LINK

Summer begins Today

Today, besides being the first day of summer, is also the longest day of the year.

Well, no, the day is not ‘longer’ because of more hours and minutes.  It is still a 24 hour day.

But, this is the day of the year with the longest time of daylight.

After today, until the winter solstice in December, the time of daylight will get shorter and shorter and shorter and ...

Then at the Winter Solstice, the shortest daylight day of the year, the days begin to get longer again until we reach next year’s “first day of summer”.

And on and on the cycle goes day after day, year after year.

Hmmm. Sounds like some kind of ‘design’ here.

Anyway, today, June 21, is the Summer Solstice, the First day of summer, and the day of the year with most daylight, hence the longest day of the year.

Just thought you would want to know.

So get outside and enjoy the day with the most sunlight until this time next year.

But, there is an Ark that we can all now see without risking our lives by climbing high mountains in the snow and ice in a far far away land.

It's located in Kentucky

Pictured here is the famous Painting depicting the story of Betsy Ross presenting the first American flag to General George Washington by Edward Percy Moran.

There are many versions of this event -- some of which agree and others that say that she did not make the first flag.

Therefore, seemingly it is not a 'cast in stone' conclusion that she made the first flag.

But whether she did or not --

The History of Envelopes

Everyone today is very familiar with envelopes and use them constantly.

Indeed sometimes the color of the envelope is significant as are the red ones pictured here.

Why Red? you ask.

Well, In many countries, especially in the East -- Red envelopes are used to present gifts of money.

These red envelopes were New Year's envelopes being sold in Taipei, Taiwan, at the market and were intended for that use.

But thousands of years ago envelopes were totally different from what we have and use today.

The article to which we are linking today gives a brief history

but it has one error -- not that it is an end of the world error -- but when you notice it you will likely wonder.

What is the error?

Well the sentence "Fast forward a couple of HUNDRED years to the 1800s …
should actually read
"Fast forward a couple THOUSAND years to the 1800's …

Other than that

I think you will find this to be a very interesting article.

Music without Sacred Music would be incomplete

You have noticed that almost every Sunday the DIT is a hymn or some form of  Worship Music --

and often we feature music by Johann Sebastian Bach.

J.S. Bach was born in 1685 and composed hundreds of pieces of music, much, if not most, of which was of Religious nature.

Indeed he even said:

"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.

If heed is not paid to this, it is not true music but a diabolical bawling and twanging."

To read about J.S. Bach, his life, his compositions, and more
