Trilophodon fossil found in Tennessee

WOW!  Who would have thought?

This fossil was found in Brighton, Tennessee, which is east of Memphis and south of Nashville.

It was reported by CNN and in the Memphis Commercial Appeal (Newspaper).

It will be given to the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis. Yes, that is an unusual name for a museum and there is an interesting story behind this museum but that is for another time.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, this fossil was found in the backyard during the installation of a swimming pool !

According to the article, it is a trilophodon, a relative of the modern elephant.

Want to read about it and see a brief video (with no commercials) about the find?  Then, HERE’S THE LINK
