7.0 Earthquake in Haiti

Possibly you were also sitting at your evening meal on Tuesday Jan 12, 2010, watching TV when suddenly they broke programming with a News Flash.

What is it this time, you wondered.

And then you heard and saw the news of a 7.0 earthquake!

The earthquake hit about 5 pm EST with the center located only about 10 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.

It is said to be the worse earthquake there in 200 years.

Complete devastation is being reported, the TV announcer said. A hospital is said to have collapsed. Buildings are destroyed. Thousands may be dead!
