Another Year is ending
It is New Year’s Eve.
2014 is almost gone and 2015 is almost here. Wow. Time flies.
In fact, as I have mentioned to several folks lately, time is flying so fast that the pages on my calendar are producing a breeze like a fan!
As 2014 ends and 2015 begins many will be celebrating in various ways.
Some will be at wild and raucous parties doing things that they will likely regret the next day.
Others will quietly celebrate with family and or friends playing games, watching videos, reminiscing, etc. etc etc.
Many will be working at their jobs, traveling, sick and in hospitals, or at home sleeping.
Some will be in churches worshipping - or at home praying and reading the Bible.
What will you be doing?
Will you be partying? Will you be reflecting? Or perhaps both?
If you do decide to ‘reflect’ you might want to consider the fact that in 2014, as in all years, many many many people died and passed into eternity.
2014 was short but Eternity! That is a long long time.
Where will you spend it?
Perhaps you should give this some thought as 2014 ends.
And, to assist you in this thinking,
HERE'S THE LINK to what happens when you die.

Another review of the movie: Exodus: Gods and Kings
In case you are considering attending this movie during this holiday season and have not read any reviews about it

We have found another review with even more details and information that you really should know before making the final decision.
Be sure to read this view before you make your final decision.

How well do you know the world?
Today's DIT is most unusual.
It was sent to us by a friend of DIT who travels a lot and has seen many varied parts of the globe --
Which is probably why it caught his attention --
As it will probably also catch yours even if you are not a world traveller.
So, what is so special about this? you ask.
Well, this is a 'game' --
The website to which we will be linking uses Google Maps and pictures.
Your 'goal' -- "should you choose to accept it"-- is to identify where the picture was taken.
Hmmm, sounds easy, you say.
Well, not so fast -- it is not as easy as you might think.
But it IS a lot of fun.
So, without further ado,

Hymn: I come to the Garden Alone
This is another long time favorite of many and is also known as "in The Garden".
Sing along with the piano.
The words will be on the screen.
And, joy and happiness, there is no ad or commercial to delete as is so often the case.
So, enjoy.

And Still more Christmas Spirit
Yes, yes, we know Christmas Day is over --
But a friend of DIT sent us this wonderful link that just can not wait until next year.
What is it?
Well, it seems that a Bus with a Gospel Quartet broke down in front of a Church --
so instead of missing the opportunity to hear some wonderful Gospel Quartet music, the Church invited them inside --
And this is what they heard --

The Spirit of Christmas Continues
Christmas Day is over and it is now the day after.
But the Spirit of Christmas lives on.
A friend sent this link to another 'flash mob' singing Christmas carols.
This time it was in the South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach.
So, sit back, relax, and sing along with the folks in this 5 minute 37 sec. video.

We are sending this very special Christmas Greeting in an unusual way.
We did not create the cards ourselves but a friend found them and sent them to us via email and we thought they were soooooo wonderful that we want to share them with you.
The first card is a ‘fun’ card. To view it HERE'S THE LINK
And after you view the ‘fun’ card, here is a serious card with the real meaning of Christmas. HERE'S THE LINK

Christmas Lights and Decorations
Some folks do not do much decorating for Christmas.
Others are moderate.
Still others go all out.
For those that go ‘all out’ I do not want to see their electric bills but kudos to them for spending the money and for all the hard work.
We have posted amazing and outstanding Christmas Decoration videos previously
but the one to which we are linking today has gone viral.
If you are a Star Wars Fan, you will go ape over this.
But, even if you have never seen a Star War Film, you will still be amazed.

Today is the Winter Solstice
December 21 is the Winter Solstice, also known as the first day of Winter.
Brrrr.
It is also the shortest day of the year -- so starting tomorrow, Dec. 22, the days will start getting longer again.
A big Yayyyyy to that.
This change of the seasons is not, of course, something that only 21st Century folks notice.
Indeed, the ‘ancients’ (who supposedly were ‘ignorant’, knuckle dragging entities -- according to those with the evolutionary old earth world view glasses) --
knew about the Winter Solstice and erected structures (monoliths, buildings, carins, etc.) to help them know exactly ‘when’ the Winter Solstice occurred.
One of these structures is Maes Howe (also known as Maeshowe).
Several DIT folks have visited the Maes Howe site and other similar sites such as the Chambered tomb of Newgrange.
These sites are famous for their midwinter (Winter Solstice) alignments.
For information about Maeshow and other similar sites HERE'S THE LINK

This brief video will show you what happened.
It is amazing.

Charlie Brown Christmas
Christmas is fast approaching and folks are scurrying around decorating, purchasing, attending parties …
But are we remembering WHAT this Christmas season represents?
The DIT today is part of that Famous Classic TV show, Charlie Brown Christmas.
Young whippersnappers may have not seen the show but the older ones certainly have and will love this abbreviated version.
You surely remember the pitiful Christmas Tree that Charlie picked out (which looks much like the one pictured here)
and the poor reception to it by his friends.
So, when Charlie, in frustration, asks "what is Christmas all about?" --
Linus explains.

The Exodus really did occur
Yesterday we linked to a movie review about the new movie: Exodus: Gods and Kings.
And even though many of the facts of that movie were incorrect --
The Exodus as recorded in the Bible actually did occur.
And -- guess what?
What?
Archaeology has proven that it occurred.
How?
Well, for starters -- A book and DVD give the details.
In 2002 we read the excellent book (cover pictured here) by Dr. Lennart Moller, titled "The Exodus Case" in which he extensively documented the crossing site with his discoveries of chariot wheels, skeleton parts and more.
Shortly after the book, a video titled "The Exodus Revealed - Search for the Red Sea Crossing" also documented the under water chariot wheels and other artifacts.
This book has recently been updated with even more information.
For details about the Red Sea Crossing discoveries plus artifacts related to Mt. Sinai and the surrounding area -- watch this very interesting video interview with Dr. Moller.

Movie Review of Exodus Gods and Kings
As you are surely well aware there is another movie 'out there' that is reported to be based on the Bible
but before you go see it you need to read the review we are posting today as the DIT.
Why read the review? you ask.
Well, as you might have correctly suspected, there are some serious departures from the Biblical account.
Sooooooo IF you see it at a theater or if you buy the DVD version when it comes out (neither of which we recommend) -- you do need to know about the problems with this movie.
So with that by way of introduction

The Most beautiful places in the world
It is December and in the Northern Hemisphere it is cold with short days --
and in some places it is rainy, snowy, and dreary.
It is at times like this when a person wishes they could go somewhere warm and beautiful.
So, today's DIT will be a vicarious vacation since it is not likely that most of us can just up and go to some beautiful place.
But thanks to the internet we can !
How?
Well, there is a site on the internet with a zillion pictures of beautiful places.
All we have to do is click and enjoy and perhaps add some to our 'bucket list'.

4 Ways to Destroy the Creation Account
This is another informative article in the Answers Magazine pictured here.
As you are aware, unless you joined Rip Van Winkle in his sleep over --
evolution has captured the thoughts and minds of many folks.
But the idea of evolution is a relatively new thing.
Until about the 1800s people, with few exceptions, believed the Biblical account of creation.
What happened in the 1800s?
The theory of evolution was proposed as the new world view of origins.
Attempting to adapt to the theory of evolution, various compromise ideas were then advanced by Church Leaders …. the Gap Theory, Historic Creation, etc.
As years passed the theory of evolution grew more widespread, so more compromising ideas were proposed by Church Leaders as they continued to try to reconcile the History in the Bible with the idea of evolution.
So, what happened and what were the results?
Did the Gap Theory, Historic Creation Theory, Day Age Theory and numerous other attempts at compromise bring peace between the Biblical Account and Evolution's need for millions and billions of years?
Or, have these attempted compromise positions caused serious problems.
Those questions and more are answered in this brief and informative article.
There is also a clickable audio version link if you prefer to have this article read to you.
Whichever you prefer, this is definitely a 'must read' or 'must hear' article.

Silent Monks sing Hallelujah Chorus
It is Christmas season and in some places the oratorio, the Messiah, is being performed.
Alas, due to previously scheduled activities, we will miss the presentation in our area.
As you surely know, I love hearing the Messiah and the Hallelujah Chorus.
But something has happened to the Hallelujah Chorus.
It is not what it used to be.
What has happened?
Well, you will find out in this 2 minute 58 second rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus as portrayed by High School Students dressed as monks.
Alas there is a commercial as is often the case with YouTube things but you can click it off in just a few seconds. So -- click it off and enjoy.

Tanker car implosion
Recently we chatted with a friend who is graduating from Georgia Tech with a Master's degree.
He had seen the DIT about the Bowling Ball and Feathers dropping simultaneously when in a vacuum -- (the DIT of Monday Dec 8 / 14)
and commented that the wall of the chamber in which the experiment had occurred was very strong (concrete walls, etc). Otherwise there would have been an implosion.
He then told us about a 'cool' implosion of a tanker car and led us to the link we are providing today.
It seems that when the air inside the tanker car (or anything) is producing less pressure on the walls than the air on the outside, an implosion (collapse) occurs.
The tanker car which you will see implode had its vacuum safety valves deliberately disabled so that there was less air inside the tanker car than the atmospheric air pressing on it from the outside.
When that happens, this is what you get :

Dog talks on the phone
If you have a dog, this may have happened to you.
You know the story --
You go off to work or on a vacation but your dog is left behind and misses you.
So, someone makes a phone call so you and the pet can converse.
When we at DIT tried this, our dog (pictured here) just looked at the phone and perked up but didn't say anything.
But the dog in the video to which we are linking today was very vocal and had a lot to say.
Check this out. It is a hoot.

Measurable Radiocarbon in Fossils. What does it mean?
The short video clip to which we are linking today is taken from a longer talk at a conference.
Dr. Andrew Snelling, PhD is the speaker.
He provides some very important information about Radiodating of Carbon 14.
Do not be alarmed -- He explains this in an easy to understand way.
You will be happily amazed to finally comprehend Carbon 14 dating and what it means.

Pyramid of the Ancients
Recently we read a novel by Keith Robinson titled Pyramid of the Ancients.
And, wow, what a book.
Though a novel, it is based on many factual and historical events.
It is apparently book two of a series
and, although we had not read book 1, we found that this really didn't matter as it reads well on its own.
What is the book about? you ask.
Well, on the back cover the summary begins with these words:
"Buried deep beneath the sands of Iraq, a team of archeologists led by Jeffrey Evans uncovers an ancient chamber filled with mystery.
In addition to the strange corpses and leather-bound tomes, the team discovers that the chamber also houses a nearly complete, two-story pyramid.
Following the instructions contained in the tomes, a team of scientists and specialists complete the mysterious structure, which they believe to be a kind of space craft.
However, when they are forced to activate the pyramid due to a surprise attack from an unknown adversary, Jeffrey, his wife Rebecca and the rest of his team are launched into a journey that threatens their lives, their relationships and their beliefs. … … ..."
Our copy was given to us as a gift --
But we checked the web and find that you can purchase it at Amazon -- and at Survivor Mall.
And no, we have no financial interest in this book -- we just enjoyed reading it and wanted to share its availability with you.
So with that by way of introduction

Drop a Bowling Ball and Feathers and …
You have doubtless heard that
in a vacuum
a rock (or in this case a bowling ball)
and a feather (or in this case several feathers)
if dropped at the same time
would fall at the same rate and land at the same time !
S U R E ? ! ? --- you say hesitatingly.
Well, guess what?
What?
The experiment has finally been done to see if this is realllllly true.

Today is Pearl Harbor day.
Alas, many many folks don't really understand this day or what it meant to America and the world--
And the remembrances of this day by living participants is rapidly fading.
That is why today's click through is very important --
So important that 2 friends of DIT sent us this link.
What is the link?
Well, the AZCentral has posted a brief video of the few remaining living survivors of the attack and sinking of the battleship USS Arizona.
That attack, on Dec 7, 1941, brought the US into WWII --
What do these survivors recall about that attack?
To find out,
