Yom Kippur - The Day of Atonement

We are now in the Fall Cycle of Jewish Holidays.

As you know, there are several holidays in the Spring, a few in the summer, and then the Fall Cycle Begins with the Feast of Trumpets.

On Sept 4 and 5, 2013 The feast of Trumpets was observed.

Now, Sept 13, 2013 at sundown Yom Kippur is observed until Sundown on Sept 14. 

So what is Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement?
