This is another amazing thing.

What is it?

Well, a friend of DIT found this (haven't we heard that before) and sent us the link.

It is better seen than described so without further ado

The Lost Path to the Roman Road

A few days ago we read about the Genesis Roman Road.

The link to which we will be going today expands upon the information in that earlier post.

We will be going to the website, Creation.com.

If this is your first time to visit that site, it will notice that and will begin with a very short video telling you about the site and the materials it has available for free.

Be sure to watch the brief video as you may want to avail yourself of some of their information.

When the video ends, you will be sent to the page with "The lost path to the Roman Road" article.   You will have to scroll down a tad on the page to find it.

So, scroll away and start reading.

You will find this verrrrrrry interesting and it will answer many questions that you may have had or which folks have asked you to answer and explain.

Interesting way to sing a Hymn

A friend of DIT sent us a link to a very unusual way of singing.

It is an Acapella version of a well known hymn / praise song

Usually Acapella just means a group is singing without an organ or piano or whatever.

Well, in the example to which we will be linking today this is partly true

In that there is no piano or organ

but

there is also no choir or group of different folks

but

There IS a group of ONE

ONE?  How can this be?

Ham Radio

"You are not in Kansas anymore, Toto."

Those were Dorothy's famous words when she discovered that she and her dog, Toto, were in a new territory.

Well, guess what, the same can be said about Ham Radio.

Why?

Because Ham radio has come a long long long way from its beginnings --

So long of a way that it has entered an exciting new technical era.

Yes, Hams still communicate by voice and morse code both locally and around the world.

But, many new innovations now allow communications by moon bounce and off meteor trails, through satellites, using computers and digital software, and much much more.

So much more that you will be amazed by the information in this interesting article which was sent to us by a friend of DIT.

If you haven't checked out Ham Radio (aka Amateur Radio) lately you need to.

And, who knows, after reading this you may finally understand that it is time for you to become a Ham!

Could Noah and his sons build the ark?

Or was it "An 'impossible' Task"?

This is the concept and title of the article to which we will be linking today.

You have probably wondered about this.

Could they really have built the ark by themselves?

After all, the ark was 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

That's pretty big.

Sooooooo

Could they do this? Or did they have to have help?

This short article has some interesting information and insights.

Coffee filters -- Who knew ?

Wow!  Who knew is right !

What?

Yes, who knew that there are many many uses for coffee filters instead of 'just' filtering coffee.

Perhaps the best part is that coffee filters can be bought in bulk very inexpensively but can be used for projects that would require bigger expenditures.

Check out the interesting list.

Genesis Roman Road

Many of you have heard of and perhaps used the "Roman Road" when witnessing to others about Christ.

Recently we read about the "Genesis-Roman Road".

It was in the book "Tower of Babel" by Bodie Hodge.

I don't know if he is the author of the Genesis-Roman Road concept but suspect that he is.

But whoever came up with this concept, if not Bodie Hodge, it is really good.

Want to read it?

Good Deed by a Dairy Queen Teen Employee

Today's DIT was sent to us by a friend who says it has gone viral so you might have already seen it -- but, if not, this is a 'must see' because --

This is a heart warming story to help you start the week on a happy note.

What happened?

Well, rather than spoil the excitement by telling you

Just click through to the article and brief video of explanation.

Alas, there is a commercial before the video begins but bear with it as the story is worth the wait.

So now without further ado.

Hymn: Softly and Tenderly

This well known and beloved Hymn used to be sung frequently in Churches as a 'Hymn of Invitation'.

And the invitation still goes out today.

What is that invitation?

Is is to come to salvation in Jesus --

which then allows that person to 'come home' and live forever in Heaven with God The Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit, and everyone who has accepted God's free gift of salvation.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosover believes in Him (Jesus) shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Trust in Jesus. Give Him your life. Let Him be your God and Lord.

If you do, then when you die you will "come home" to live with Him in His Kingdom forever.

Evolution vs God

You may have seen Ray Comfort's 180 movie.

This is similar but on the topic of evolution

You can purchase it as a video and you can also purchase the Companion Guide if you would like to use it in a Bible Study, SS class, or whatever.

But you can also watch it online for free.

It is 38 minutes long but is a must watch video.

That is why we are posting it on a Saturday since you likely have more time on a weekend.

Once you get to the page, you will need to scroll down a tad, then click the Arrow to play.

And now, without further ado,

Osprey - Another of God's Amazing Creatures

A friend of DIT found this video.

What is it?

Well, it shows an Osprey in action hunting its meal.

As noted in the email sent by the friend of DIT:

"There are 3 sequences in this video.

1st - the Osprey catches half a dozen fish in one strike.

2nd - it plunges into deep water to grab the flounder.

3rd - it captures a big fish that looks as if it weighs as much as or more than he does! "

This short video of just under 3 minutes is truly amazing.

Sukkot - Feast of Tabernacles

As mentioned previously, there are a series of Jewish Holidays that are observed annually.

Several are in the Spring, a few in the summer, and the rest in the Fall.

Today a very important Fall Feast / Holiday begins at Sundown.

Interestingly and significantly, though all the Major Jewish Holidays are important to the Jews they are also important to Christians.

Why?

Because the Jewish Holidays / Feasts have prophetic meanings and are Types / Pictures of important events in History.

The Feast / Holiday beginning today at sundown is Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles.

This Feast actually spans a week and this year that week is Sept 19-26, 2013.

So what happens?  And why does it take a week?

Well, one of the things that happens is that the Jews build booths / tabernacles and live in them during the week.

The picture today showing some of these booths is from Wikipedia and was taken by Yoninah.

The article to which we are linking will give more details about the booths and will   answer those questions about what happens and why.

Parbuckling operation raising the Cruise liner Costa Concordia

Well, the Cruise Ship Costa Concordia is FINALLY upright again.

But, from the looks of things, it is not going anywhere soon or perhaps ever except to the scrap yard.

You are well aware, unless you have just returned from Mars, about the disaster when this ship ran aground January 13, 2012.

If you really were on Mars and don't know about the accident, HERE'S A LINK that will explain.

Lives were lost and the ship was seriously damaged.

The picture above from Wikipedia, taken by Cezary Piwowarski, shows how it looked before the accident.

But it isn't bright, beautiful, and shiny any more.

It has been on its side for months and months.

Finally, the operation to raise the Concordia has been completed.

50 pictures of the parbuckling operation have been posted on the internet.

I think you will find these most interesting.

So, without further ado,

The Beauty of Mathematics

Today's DIT has been sent to us on two separate occasions.

In 2009 it was sent by a friend, who is an math expert and loves numbers.

The version she sent was in printed text form.

Then, just a few days ago, another friend sent the same concept but this time it is in a 3 minutes 2 seconds video.

I don’t know who wrote (well, perhaps the term ‘calculated’ is a better word) these amazing math things. Perhaps this is something that ‘math folks’ do all the time. But it sure was new to us.

We have mentioned over and over again that the intricacy and details of cells, animals, plants, stars, planets, etc. point to a Creator God rather than just happenstance occurrences.

In the same way, these mathematical calculations could not have happened by chance.

Talk about a Master Designer! Wow!

So what is it that is so amazing and awesome, you ask?

Well, see for yourself. Surely you will also be amazed at the beauty of Math.

And if you want the 2009 print out version to share with your friends, Sunday School, Math and Science classes, and even perfect strangers --

This 3 Minute Commercial puts Full-Length Hollywood Films to Shame

What ?

Yes, another TV commercial.

The link was sent by a friend of DIT.

It is even better than the commercial posted last week.

And, yes, as the title says, it is even better than Hollywood films.

What is it?

Well it is a commercial from Thailand --

but don't dispare there are subtitles in English.

So, with that said, get out your kleenex and

Sanctus

Years and years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Church music was very different from things performed today ---

Churches had choirs with robes, 4 part harmony, a real organ, soloists with trained voices, and anthems that evoked a truly worship experience.

Several DITers are old enough to remember such days and some of us even sang in such Choirs.

The Anthem to which we are linking today is performed by a small choir with organ and soloist and evokes memories of years and years ago when we sang this same anthem in a much larger choir.

In fact, this is one of my all time favorite anthems.

Join us in memories of 'how it used to be' in this 4 minutes 28 seconds video.
