Yes, the picture here is of a Sugar Glider, sometimes called a Sugar Bear, and was taken by Anke Meyring who posted it on Wikipedia.
Why are you mentioning this? you ask.
Well, this past weekend a group of us went to a RV expo -- yes yes I know a Sugar glider is not a RV (Recreation Vehicle) --
But, there was a side exhibit there of Sugar Gliders for sale.
As you can see they look a lot like a squirrel but, in reality, they are Marsupials (you know like kangaroos, possums, and other animals who live in the mother's pouch for awhile after birth.)
These Sugar Gliders, being in the marsupial family, also love pouches and pockets.
The guy exhibiting these cute little critters was wearing cargo pants and his pet Sugar Glider often and readily crawled into and snuggled up in the cargo pocket.
According to the exhibitor guy, these make very loyal pets and do not run away once they have bonded with you.
They also are said to live about 12 to 15 years and can fly like a flying squirrel, though we didn't see that demonstration.
Anyway, this was a new creature to us and probably to you also.
So we thought you would be interested in seeing another of God's Amazing and really cute Creations.
To learn more about these most unusual and cute cute cute animals, HERE'S THE LINK.
And to view a 3 minute 3 second video showing them 'in action', HERE'S THE LINK
But, we are NOT recommending these to you as a pet as there are other videos out there on YouTube (SUCH AS THIS 2 minute 22 second VIDEO) that tell some of the 'not so nice' features.
We just wanted you to know they exist and are cute.
But, all things considered, imho, you are better off sticking with a dog or a cat. Just a thought. : )
