Hail Glaciers?
What is that?
Well, it is a rare but very real phenomenon
and a friend of DIT found this link telling about it.
In this particular instance, the event occurred in New Mexico, USA, during the late summer of 2004.
The hailstone pictured here measures 6 cm in size (2.36 inches) and is an example of a large hailstone -- though it was not a part of the Hail Glacier in this story.
