So what did Marriage used to mean?

We mentioned yesterday that marriage today in the US is very different than in the past.

Specifically, though folks are living together, marriage rates are the lowest ever.

And, for many of those who do get married, they seemingly do not understand or care that it is supposed to be a lifetime ('until death do you part') situation.

In fact, some folks are even leaving that phrase out of their marriage vows.

And, do folks understand what a "Covenant Relationship" really means?  Probably not.

Is marriage really an "until death do you part" covenant relationship established by God?  Or is it a "till we get tired of each other or until I can find a reason to not love you any more, or … (fill in the blank) relationship?

Hmmmm.

So, if you are wondering what God's plan and ideal for Marriage (before churches, pastors, and the world decided to change things), the article to which we are linking today will fill you in on the details.

One caveat, however, about the article. It seems to suggest that if you remarry, you lose your salvation. We at DIT don't think that is Biblical. Perhaps they just didn't word their sentence correctly.

But, other than that, this article is loaded with information and Scriptures that everyone needs to read. HERE'S THE LINK
