Rugby

Football, Soccer, Rugby --

These are 3 versions of a somewhat similar game.

Football in the USA, Soccer in many South American and European Countries --

And then there is Rugby !!!

All three sports are loved and avidly followed by their respective fans.

But, for those of you who are not as aware of the antics and excitement in Rugby as compared to the other two, you really need to see this 4 minute 38 second video.

It is entitled "The most entertaining three minutes of Rugby"

Don't ask me why it is a 4 minute 38 second video when it is "3 minutes of entertaining…."

But do watch this!

Whether you are a fan of Rugby or not, you WILL be amazed.

“Rescuing Our Kids”

We received an email from the Answers In Genesis Ministry.

It said: "The Answers Mega Conference has finished in Tennessee, but its purpose has not.
"The goal of the conference was to equip believers with truth so that they can defend their faith in this world that is attacking the authority of God’s Word at its very foundation.
Ken’s final keynote titled “Rescuing Our Kids” asserted that the church in America is under judgment.
"He explained that we needed to rescue our kids from the evil one, the secularists, this evil culture,  churches that don’t teach apologetics, churches that compromise God’s Word, many Sunday schools and their “fluff and stuff” curricula, and compromising Christian institutions.
"He challenged Christians to help begin a new Reformation."
After that introduction AIG provided a link to the video of that talk.
Even though it is long (after all it was delivered at a conference so one doesn't expect a 5 minute talk at a Conference) it is definitely a 'must watch'.
Why?  Because, as he points out --
"⅔ of the young people walk away from the Church by the time they reach college age."
Why does this happen and what can be done about it.????
In this video, Ken Ham answers those questions.
So, pull up a chair, get a notepad and pen, and watch this verrrrry important 1 hour 3 minute video.

Trees covered in Spider Webs !!

A friend of DIT found this and emailed it to us.

It is indeed Incredible.

What is it?

Well, as the DIT title states, there really are trees covered in spider webs!

Who would have thought !

This happened in Pakistan but who knows where else such a thing might occur.

Bottom line --- watch out if you get too much rain in a spidery area.

How did trains standardize time in the United States?

What time is it?

When that question is asked today, you usually get a correct and universal  answer.

But did you know that in the 1800s things were not so simple.

What do you mean?  you ask.

Well, this interesting 3 minute 34 second video answers that question and explains how the time that we use today was actually a result of trains.

Today's DIT is not from Heloise but it is of that genre.

I think you will find the hints of how do do things realllly interesting and helpful.

Alas

Alas, the post that was scheduled for today wasn't posted correctly.

And this was not discovered until about 7:15 pm today.

Another 'senior moment' at work on the part of the 'poster'.

It was not Google's fault.

Sigh.

But, just in case you were wondering about the DIT for today (Weds)

... now you know.

Dinosaurs and Humans

You have been told repeatedly that Dinosaurs lived and died millions of years ago.

And you have been told that Humans came on the scene only recently so in no way could they have seen or known about dinosaurs.

But is that correct?

This very short (1 minute 30 seconds) video has some interesting facts for you to consider before you accept the premise that dinosaurs did not co-exist with humans.

Apollo 11 Saturn V Launch

While we are on the topic of Rocket Launches ---

You will recall that yesterday the DIT was of a launch to Mars --

Today, we are going to view a Launch of the Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket which took place in 1969.

This video is different in that it focuses only on the Launch Pad.

Have you ever wondered what really happens there?

When we see launches on TV or in videos, movies, etc., only a few seconds of the launch take place at the site of the Launch Pad and then zip the rocket is off.

Well, today, thanks to a friend of DIT who found this video,

we can see an amazing slow motion view of what really happens on the Launch pad.

The very few (actually 30) seconds are slowed down into an 8 Minutes 42 seconds video while a Narrator tells us what is happening.

This is pretty amazing.

How to Get to Mars

You may have seen the end of this event live on TV awhile back.

It was a 'big deal', very tense, and exciting.

What is the event? you ask.

It is when NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory successfully landed one of the now several Mars Rovers.

The 6 minutes 33 seconds video to which we are linking today summarizes the event beginning with the blast off.

A friend of DIT sent this to us.  HERE'S THE LINK

"Is Young-Earth Creationism a Bad choice?"

Everyone today is constantly told (in movies, on TV, in schools, in many Churches, and almost everywhere else including advertisements) that ONLY Evolution (including Theistic Evolution) can be considered as the cause of everything.

But, is that correct?

Is Evolution correct?

Or is Creationism Correct?

Both can not be correct.

Today's DIT is a rather long but very important article which addresses this issue.

Do not give up and stop reading because of its length --

because this article discusses the question in the complete, thorough, and logical manner which is not allowed in TV soundbites, in schools, or elsewhere.

I think you will find it most instructive and helpful.

So pull up a chair, put on your thinking cap, and check this out.

Creation Vacations

We are in the middle of summer vacation season.

Well, maybe not exactly in the middle as it seems that many schools are starting now or very soon.

But, just in case you still have time for a vacation, a very unusual site on the internet shows where folks can find interesting and informative Creation locations to visit.

Check these out and perhaps you can visit a nearby (or far away) site.

So, to discover some of the many Creation Museums and other vacation sites HERE'S THE LINK

Sunday Hymn -- Rock of Ages

Written in 1763 by the Reverend Augustus Toplady, it has been a favorite of many for almost 250 years.

The picture here is of the actual Rock that helped inspire this hymn.

According to Wikipedia, "Traditionally, it is held that Toplady drew his inspiration from an incident in the gorge of Burrington Combe in the Mendip Hills in England.

"Toplady, a preacher in the nearby village of Blagdon, was travelling along the gorge when he was caught in a storm. Finding shelter in a gap in the gorge, he was struck by the title and scribbled down the initial lyrics on a playing card.

"The fissure that is believed to have sheltered Toplady is now marked as the "Rock of Ages", both on the rock itself and on some maps, and is also reflected in the name of a nearby tea shop."
And now that you know the story behind this Hymn, let's sing along with the Choir in this 2 minute 56 second video.  HERE'S THE LINK

Milky Way in South Dakota

Today's DIT is another great time lapse video by Randy Halverson.

The link was found by a friend of DIT who knows that we love videos of the sky.

Folks who live in cities with lights that obscure details of the sky ---

or who live in locations where trees and / or mountains block views of the sky ---

miss the awesome views of the Milky Way, constellations, planets, and the many other beautiful sky scenes.

This 3 minute 13 seconds video is especially for you so you can see what you have been missing.

South Dakota is flat flat flat so the views of the sky are truly awesome.
