There are several states that are famous for their beautiful fall colors --

I am speaking of the trees that turn so many beautiful shades and hues in the fall.

And Tennessee is one of those states with stunningly beautiful fall foliage colors.

But alas and alack, folks who are colorblind are not able to see and appreciate the awesome colors.

What did the Reformers believe about the Age of the Earth

On October 31, 2017,slightly over 500 years ago, Martin Luther began the reformation when he posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenberg Church in Germany.

He was not alone in his thoughts for very long because many others soon entered in the cause.

Some of these Reformers included John Calvin, Henry Bullinger, Ulrich Zwingli, and many more. 

The Guttenberg printing press was developed at this time (as pictured here) and this enabled these and the other Reformers to put their teachings into print.

So what did they believe and teach?

And how did their teachings differ from other earlier famous people such as Augustine, Aristotle, and others.

Yesterday was a day of feast and plenty.  And, wow what a good time everyone had and yum yum were all the dishes.

Yes, the Thanksgiving meal was wonderful and bountiful.

But now there are lots of leftovers. 

What to do?  These leftovers are way too tasty to just throw out. or to give to the dog.

The famous turkey sandwich route is a staple left over ‘idea’.

In America, today is Thanksgiving Day.

This is the day that folks travel to grandmother’s house or some similar place to gather with family and friends and observe one of the most favorite and special times of the year, Thanksgiving.

Some will have large gatherings and bountiful meals, others smaller groups and not so much.

But all who truly understand this special Holiday will give thanks on this day to God for our many blessings.

History books when I was a child (long long ago when Dinosaurs roamed the earth) told the correct history of Thanksgiving.

But, alas, since those days there have been many revisions and deletions concerning its origin and true meaning.

Dog has incredible Reaction to Soldier returning home

2 Caveats re today's video link.

First -- the dog pictured here is not the one greeting the soldier

and Second -- the Soldier in the video was not coming home for Thanksgiving.  He had been gone on a long deployment and was finally returning home.

But since tomorrow is thanksgiving and all over the USA many folks will be traveling back to their home or will be going to visit friends.

We thought you would enjoy this amazing reunion of a soldier and his dog.

And hopefully you will receive or give a joyful (though not as intense) reunion to your family and friends and whomever tomorrow as you celebrate Thanksgiving.

It all adds up

Set your clocks before you go to bed tonight

This is a big heads up and reminder that

               It is “Fall Back time.”

Yes, tonight, this Saturday night (well, technically in the wee hours of Sunday morning), Daylight Savings Time ends.

So, be sure to change allllll your clocks and timers and everything that ‘blinks when the power goes out’ BACK one hour before you go to bed tonight (Saturday night).

If you don’t do this, you'll be an hour early to church!  And, if you are a Baptist, I guess that means you will be the early bird making the coffee and putting out the donuts.   : )

Anyway, this will be a 25 hour day, so, joy and happiness, you get another hour of sleep tonight !!!!

But, alas, if you have a job where you are on call or on duty when the time changes, well, sad about that as you have to work longer.  Sigh.

Also, this is a good time change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Who was Ulrich Zwingli?

Yesterday was Reformation Day -- the Day immortalized when Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenberg Church in Germany.

But Luther was not the only one who was involved in what is now referred to as the Reformation.

After Luther posted his 95 Theses, others agreed with him and began to participate in what is now referred to as The Reformation -- the beginning of the Protestant Church.

Several of these others included Jan Hus, John Wycliffe, John Calvin, William Tyndale, Oliver Cromwell, John Knox, and Ulrich Zwingli.

Ulrich Zwingili?   Who is he you ask.
