Noah -- The Movie
Many of you have already seen this movie which opened in theaters this past weekend.
You had been told that this would be "true to the essence, values, and integrity" of the account of Noah.
But, If you did see it and if you are familiar with the Bible, you are likely now scratching your head because
it did NOT line up with the Biblical record.
If you have not yet seen the movie but are making plans to do so
or if you have already seen it
you should read the review to which we will be linking today.
Why?
Well, because this movie is filled with so many errors and inaccurate depictions of the Biblical account that one reviewer said it "may be the worst film I've ever seen."
Even the Director and writer of the movie, Darren Aronofsky, said it is "the least biblical film ever made"
So what exactly are these errors and problems? you ask.
They are almost innumerable but for one of the most comprehensive summaries --

How Do Dogs Drink?

But, what exactly is that?
How does a dog drink?
How does he get the water into his mouth?
This amazing slow motion video will likely be a surprise to you.
It was to us.

Is this the worst driver ever?
It is Spring and many drivers are hitting the road for trips or whatever.
But some have a harder time than others in getting out of the parking lot.
Maybe for this person it is best that they stay in the parking lot and not make it to the road.
That is why this DIT is titled: "Is this the worst driver ever?"
Want to see why?

Giraffe-Necked Weevil
What is that? you say.
Well, it is a most unusual weevil.
It is pictured here (photograph by Axel StrauB in a Wikipedia article).
This weevil is unusual in many ways in that --
It has a neck that resembles a giraffe --
It lives in only one place in the world (Madagascar) --
It lives in only one species of tree (the "giraffe beetle tree" aka Dichaetanthera arborea) --
it lays only one egg and this is deposited in the middle of a leaf that the mother giraffe beetle had rolled into a cigar shape.
Wow, whew. Imagine all that !!!
The question is (as stated in a Creation Research Society article)
"How did the giraffe (weevil) beetle know to select this particular tree and from where did this insect get the ability to lay just one egg and the wisdom to care for it so tenderly?"
Good question.
Do you think this all happened by chance???

Spring Begins Today !!
According to the calendar, Spring begins today.
Someone should tell the weather because many folks still are 'weathering' snow, ice, and its after effects.
Apparently the Groundhog prediction of 6 more weeks of winter was correct this year.
Sigh.
But, hopefully, according to the calendar, things will soon improve.
Flowers will bloom, trees will bud, birds will return, and the weather will get better.
Yayyy.
No click through today. Instead, if Spring has come to your area, go outside and enjoy it.

The I'm a Believer Pin
The mother of a friend of DIT had a terrific idea.
What was it?
Well, she realized that many folks would like to share their faith but sometimes are hesitant or not sure how to start the discussion.
Then the idea hit her --
If she, or anyone, would be wearing a pin on their clothing that would spark curiosity about it, this could be the open door --
And so the I'm a Believer pin was conceived.
Her son helped her with the design of the pin and with the making of the web page which tells more about this beautiful pin and how you can get one for yourself, should you so choose, and I hope you will.
So, for information about this beautiful conversation-starter pin and how you can get one (or more)

Who really was St. Patrick
Today is St. Patrick's day.
You will likely see many folks wearing Green today.
Shamrocks will be everywhere.
And, alas, many will 'celebrate' by getting drunk.
But, why is this day 'celebrated'?
There are many stories and myths about St. Patrick.
Some are true and some are not.
So, the question is:
Who was St. Patrick?
Did he really drive snakes out of Ireland?
Was he a Saint?
These questions and more are answered in this very interesting and informational article by Dr. James Kennedy.

ARRL at 100: A Century of Ham Radio
2014 is an important year for Ham Radio.
It is especially important for the ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League).

From those early beginnings Commercial Radio, TV, Digital transmissions, Satellites, Cell Phones, and many more inventions developed.
The ARRL Magazine, QST, began publishing in 1915.
