Sunday Hymn: Dayenu - Passover song

The Hymn today is not a Hymn in the usual sense of the word.

Rather it is a Jewish song which is sung at some Passover Seder Suppers.

The version we will hear today is sung by Jews who are observing the annual Feast of Passover with a traditional Song.

Though they are singing of and picturing the various elements of the Passover, many are likely unaware of the significance of these elements --

The elements are types / pictures of Yeshua (Jesus- the Lamb of God) and what His sacrificial death provides for all who accept his substitute sacrifice for sin.

For example:  The Lamb that was slain -- is a picture of Jesus, the Lamb of God who was slain to let those who accept His substitute death escape the punishment for sins by His death paying the death price for us.

The blood on the doorposts of the house pictures the blood on the Cross on which Christ died.

Many more types / pictures could be listed here but that is a whole study in itself.

But back to today's topic -- the Sunday Hymn --

Passover (Pesach) begins today

Well, technically, Passover is a 7 day holiday (feast) which begins today.

So you ask? What exactly IS Passover ?

Well, you are likely aware that Passover celebrates the departure (exodus) of the Jewish Nation from Egypt after about 400 years of living in Egypt, most of that time in slavery.

The Holiday / Feast activities and celebrations observed today are not only reminders of that past event but

they are also types / prophetic pictures pointing to future events.

For example -- The Jewish Seder Supper is observed at Passover. 

There are many things eaten during this Seder, each with significant symbolism.

Two of these 'special things' are the Afikomen and the Zeroa.

What are they? And why are these important to both Jews and Gentiles (everyone else) ?

Today is the First Day of Spring

The technical definition of today's event is "The Spring Equinox"

and it is observed annually when the Sun crosses the celestial equator from south to north.

But, wow, that is technical --

and what we want to know in simple terms is that

Yayyyy and hooray -- it is Spring at last!!!!!

Which means that

it's that wonderful time of the year when the cold of winter begins to fade away

and the warmth of the year begins to return.

Sooooooo Spring (the Spring Equinox) officially begins today.

And in many areas, including our own,

Flowers are blooming. Trees are budding. Grass is Growing.

The sky is blue and the birds are back.

Daylight Savings Time Begins today!!!

Yaaaay and hooray !!!

It's time to SPRING FORWARD !!!!!

So be sure you have set your clocks ahead 1 hour.

Technically this time change happens at 2 AM Today  -- i.e. Sunday Morning.

So hopefully, you changed your clocks before going to bed Saturday night.

Yes, you will loose an hour of sleep but Joy and Happiness we will have more daylight in the evenings.

Riding to the top of the Gateway Arch in the Tram Car

Inside the other Channel Tunnel you don't normally see

Well, it is time for another vicarious trip.

And actually, this is a trip you probably would not be able to do even if you were able to travel.

What is it? you ask.

Well, as you know, there is an underwater tunnel that goes from England (Britain) to France.

You can ride in it using the high speed Train.

Actually there are 3 tunnels, 

two which you might ride in using the train

but the third one is the one we will visit today.

It is the tunnel you don't normally see but it is absolutely essential.

It's purpose is to provide access to the two train tunnels for maintenance, evacuations, and more.
