Hymn: Softly and Tenderly Jesus is calling.

Yesterday, our Scripture verse told us HOW to spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus.

It is by believing in Jesus, confessing our sins, and accepting His gift of forgiveness and salvation.

Today our Hymn continues with that thought --

and invites you and everyone who has not yet accepted Jesus' gift of salvation

to do so.

Today is GroundHog day

It is that long awaited day when we supposedly find out if the brrrrrrr cold of winter will continue or if we can anticipate the warmer days of Spring.

But, if he does not see his shadow, then winter will soon end and he leaves his burrow for the anticipated soon coming spring weather.

Hmmm. Interesting.

What did T-Rex really eat?

T-Rex is 'short' for the famous dinosaur Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Kids love him and flock to museums to see his skeletons.

They also have toys of him and read books and watch movies in which he is a star and a 'hero'.

Most of the books, movies, articles, videos, toys, etc depict T-Rex as being a big bad mean dinosaur that ate other animals, dinosaurs, people, and anything he wanted to eat.

But, is this true?

Was T-Rex only a meat eater?

Or

What did T-Rex really eat?

The brief article to which we are linking today has some very interesting information on that subject.

An Interesting Harris Poll

There are polls and then there are polls.

But Harris Polls always command the attention of Poll observers.

And the Harris Poll to which we are linking to day, though published a few years ago, is very important and definitely commands attention.

Why?

Because it has uncovered the fact that

              "Belief in God declines
                               as
Belief in Darwin's theory of evolution rises"

Hmmmmm

This definitely helps explain what is happening in the USA and around the world --

And is a must read.

You will want to share this information with your SS Class, Bible Study Class, and other groups.

Where are you from?

A while back -- a group of us were sitting around chatting

and a couple of folks said they had recently taken an online test that was a hoot.

How a hoot? you ask.

Well, it seems that this test will tell you where you are from.

It has to do with things you say and the way you say them.

It is the result of a Harvard linguistic study.

Being very skeptical about its validity the rest of us in the room broke down, went online, and took the test.

And guess what -- it was correct.

It even pegged me to the town where I live.

Who would have thought.

So, if you would like to try this out also

Your New Year's Diet Resolutions

Are you kidding? Resolutions? Do folks still make them?

Yes, I know, when younger I, too, would make a lonnnnng list of resolutions -- such as: go on a diet, exercise more, read the Bible more, etc. etc. etc.

But, as you have probably noticed when you did likewise, that after a few days, weeks, or months (depending on the resolution), they all seemed to drop away.

Your list got lost. The motivation was gone. The weight had crept back up, the fee to join the exercise club was wasted (well, I never joined an exercise club but many folks do), the daily walking around the block ended, and .... well, you get the idea.

So, the question for today is: are you going to make any resolutions for 2010?

If you are, do it NOW.

And, if not, Why Not?

And as you make those resolutions, remember:

“We have only one life,
it will soon be past,
only what is done for God will last.”

New Year's Resolutions begin again

It is another New Year.

Which means it is time to once again make and begin New Year’s Resolutions.

And likely one of your resolutions is ‘to read and study the Bible more this year’.

If so, then you will love this DIT (Daily Interesting Thing).

Why?

Because recently we received an email from Bible Study Tools dot Com telling of  great study tools they have available for free.

These include Bible Reading Plans, many on-line versions of the Bible, dictionaries, concordances, and more.

To see the information we received HERE'S THE LINK

Another Year Begins

Wow, it is already that time of the year again --The time when the old year ends and a new year begins.

And, as this is being uploaded to the web, the famous Times Square New Year’s Eve ball has just dropped. And 2018 has begun !

Some people ignore the event and just sleep through it.

          BUT

Many folks saw the new year “in” while in prayer.

Others celebrate the coming of the new year in crazed and drunken parties.

Still others will be at home alone or with family or friends or at calmer parties but stop to watch via TV the Ball Drop in Times Square.

So -- bottom line

No matter how you saw the new year 'in'

Our greeting to you from Daily Interesting Things is

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!
